Description

A large, stone castle set upon  high cliffs.  Frequent attacks by both Danes and Vikings forced them to build new and better defences each year.  The strong force of grogs at Solis Castle are possibly the best trained and equipped in the Tribunal. Morale is excellent, and Egbrigt is considered a strong leader. The preponderance of mundane activity has weakened the aura of this site.  There is even a small chapel in one of the castle wings where a dominion aura can be measured at Christmas and Easter.

Background

Solis castle used to be Darius's centre of political intrigue. He used to dominate council; utilising Urien's position within House Ex Miscellanea, and seeking to promote Yania to Quaesitor. However his machieavellian plans did not succeed as he had hoped. Just as Darius thought he had succeeded, his filius, Jean de Caen, was discovered to be a diabolist.  In the resulting investigations, Darius was found to be innocent of any charge of trafficking with the devil, but the Tremere thought it wise to place him in the new covenant of Holy Isle where they could keep an eye on him.  Since then Yania proved that her station as Quaesitor could not be used by Darius to score points with political enemies, and Urien has joined Cad Gadu and is far less under the thrall of the Tremere.  Gruder was always a recluse and has little business within the covenant.  Orlania joined in 1094 from Blywyddan covenant.  Her influence may yet bring Solis Castle back from the brink of premature Winter.

Major attributes

Solis Castle has formidable mundane resources and contacts.  The covenant is self-sufficient for magical resources, having a good library and a fair supply of vis coming in each year.  The library has recently been given a boost by Orlania's contributions.  The visitors' library is small, but open to anyone who will give a season's service in return.
