Description
Nestled among the high hills of north Wales, Cad Gadu is a large fortified covenant. With a large freshwater lake nearby and an old forest around it, Cad Gadu is an easy place to live and work. More accesable than Blackthorn, Cad Gadu has built reasonable relations with local mundanes and outsiders. There is always an air of energy at the covenant, which is always hectic with activity.
Background
The oldest covenant in the Tribunal and always a little chaotic Garius maintains a firm control over covenant affairs, but has had to share more power with Llanoddwyn, the ancient Primus of House Ex-Miscellanea. It is said that there are many tensions between the two senior magi, but they have not flared up severely yet. Jordael is gifted with visions and premonitions and Garius often relies upon his council as Lexor used to do. Kara and Sylvania spend much of their time in the old forest, where they can be away for seasons at a time. Mathus has taken over Stassius' duties carrying news across the covenants of the south and west of the Tribunal. Tomas used to reside outside of any covenant, but managed to incur the wrath of Orlania and turned to Cad Gadu for sanctuary. His presence there is said to be a bone of contention between Orlania and Garius. Garius is still said to bear a grudge against Darius.
Major attributes
Cad Gadu is the richest covenant for vis in the Tribunal, rivalling many of the older covenants in the Order. Drawing nearly a Queen of vis each year from a wide variety of sites, even the apprentices are allowed to study from vis. The centre of the covenant is dominated by a huge oak tree, said to be some 600 years old. The tree produces dozens of large silvery acorns each year. Each acorn is a pawn of Herbam vis. In contrast to the formidable vis reserves, the covenant has a very under-developed library. The visitors' library is relatively poor, though it has a lot of non-hermetic works.
