First Amendment

Any and all covenant possessions may be utilised by any member of the covenant for the purpose of defending the covenant. As long as such possessions are used exclusively for that purpose, and with good cause, no penalty for the disposal of that property shall fall upon that member. This exception does not extend to the appropriation of personal possessions, but any member of the covenant will be expected to use personal possessions for the purpose of defending the covenant. Where it is felt that the cost to an individual member has been high in this duty, the council may elect to make a grant of covenant goods to reimburse that cost. This grant may be a part or the whole of the personal possessions utilised.

Second Amendment

I hereby authorise my Sodalis to take the following actions: I declare that any magus of this covenant may use magic in my aid, this exception extends to include any spells for the necessary investigation of my state or whereabouts; I declare that any member of this covenant may use any of my personal possessions to give me aid; I declare that any magus of this covenant may enter my sanctum to give me aid. These exceptions will only be lawful if my physical or mental or spiritual well-being is reasonably believed to be endangered, and no other course of action will prevent this harm. These exceptions will only be lawful if every reasonable effort has been made to obtain my explicit permission and due to my physical or mental or spiritual state my permission has been unobtainable. If an action taken by a magus of this covenant was consistent with the lawful exceptions listed here I shall seek no retribution against them. If I feel that the action taken by a magus was unlawful then I will appeal to council for decision. If I am dissatisfied with the ruling of council in this matter, I reserve the right, under Hermetic Law, to have the matter investigated by the Quaesitor.

Each magus who is a full member of the covenant may opt to be excluded from this amendment by calling a meeting of council and declaring it so. They will also submit in writing, at that meeting, that they have opted for exclusion from this amendment.

Third Amendment

The definition of a vis site shall not include that vis that arises naturally from the body of a magus. This vis will be considered the personal resource of that magus, and the covenant waives any claim to it as a vis site.

Fourth Amendment

In the first year of joining the covenant the magus shall be required whatever services the council decided when the magus was offered a place. After these services are completed the magus shall then be required to perform a single season's service each year thereafter.

Fifth Amendment

Except when performing a covenant service, a Magus who retrieves vis from a site designated by the Council as being 'contested' shall be entitled to keep two thirds of the amount collected for his or her own use.  One third - including the larger part if the amount is not divisible into thirds - shall belong to the covenant. The provisions of this Amendment are valid only when the Council does not itself intend to harvest the vis site in question that year.

The sites currently deemed to be contested are:  the Perdo vis, the Mentem vis and the Auram vis.

Sixth Amendment

Exchanges of vis between magi who are full members of the covenant shall not be taxed by the covenant.  In addition magi who are paid in vis, magical, or mundane goods as part of an exchange for the creation of items or other service shall only be taxed upon the profit made on the transaction.

Seventh Amendment

The following four clauses set out the procedures for leaving the covenant:

First, if the Council wishes to expel one of its members against his wishes, it must first remove his Good Standing as set out elsewhere in the charter. After a minimum of one season from this point has passed, the Council may debate a motion to expel from the covenant the Magus who has lost his Good Standing. This motion must receive the votes of all Magi save the one who is to be expelled.

Second, a Magus in Good Standing may choose to leave the covenant of his own free will. The Magus must announce his intention to leave at a quorate Council meeting. The Magus so doing will cease to be a member of the covenant at the end of the Council meeting.

Third, A Magus joining the covenant must complete a probationary period of two years. During this period, the Council may choose to expel him from the covenant by a vote of all Magi save the Magus to be expelled. In this case, it is not necessary to strip him of his Good Standing or wait one season as set out in the first clause. In addition, the Magus in question may also choose to leave the covenant by following the provisions in the second clause.

Fourth, let it be understood by all that the resources here specified belong to the covenant rather than individual Magi: vis sites (whether uncontested or contested), vis stores, magical items, magical texts, mundane texts, laboratory equipment and mundane resources (including, but not limited to, coven folk, grogs, artisans, money, goods, businesses, buildings and land). Any Magus leaving the covenant must surrender any and all of these resources in his possession. The Council may choose to grant a departing Magus use or ownership of any resources at its discretion.

Eighth Amendment

In cases where a Magus is physically unable or unwilling to attend council, he or she may grant his or her sigil to another member of the council to use on his or her behalf. A sigil so held will act as if the Magus was present in matters of quoracy.
